Demystifying & Thriving: Understanding MAPs & Fostering Fulfilling Lives

Purpose:
Although awareness of minor-attracted persons (MAPs) and effective psychotherapeutic approaches to meeting their mental health needs is growing rapidly, many mental health providers feel unequipped to provide affirmative therapy to this population. Through expert-led sessions, the conference aims to empower mental health providers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to offer affirming therapy to MAPs by understanding their unique mental health needs, experiences, and challenges.
Goals:
- Increase competence and cultural humility in providing affirming, compassionate care for MAPs
- Identify different levels of stigma and bias and their effects on MAPs and providers
- Identify and discuss ways to promote wellness and thriving among MAPs
* The location will be convenient to a major airport and will be provided upon acceptance of registration
